Team Competition

YDRC is part of Area 4, a geographic area covering a large part of Yorkshire. Riding Clubs from across Area 4 compete against each other in a variety of events with those qualifying going forward to represent the Area at the National Championships.

Area events include, dressage, showjumping, combined training, arena eventing, horse trails and dressage to music to name a few. Events take place throughout the year at venues such as Northallerton EC, Port Royal and Bishop Burton. Area events cater for all levels with dressage tests starting at Intro and up to Advance Medium and jumping from 70m to 105cm. Depending on the event, riders can compete individually or part of a team (either 3-4 riders(.

To compete at Area 4 as part of YDRC, you would need to ensure:-

  • Your horse’s annual flu vac up to date
  • Your hat and body protector (for XC) is to the requisite standard
  • You are eligible to compete – you are a YDRC riding member and you meet the eligibility criteria (see handbook link below)

The BRC handbook has all the details as to rules, correct dress, eligibility and much more. [Click here to view!]

Everyone who is interested in entering Area 4 on behalf of YDRC is encouraged to join the ‘team chat’ were entry forms, fees and closing dates etc are communicated. If you are a YDRC member and interested in Area 4 events, please get in touch with Katie Daniel (kianson@hotmail.co.uk or 07960 223135).
